Note: We have consistently found that if you unlock all the units at once. Some of the more enthusiastic students will rush through the content at home before you get to it in class!

Finding the unlock units page

1. Log in at https://test.rodocodo.com/admin
2. Go to the Classes section.
3. Click on the “Unlock” button.
4. You can now see which units are unlocked for your whole class.

Unlocking units for the whole class

Whilst on the unlock units page:

1. Click on the “All” button for the unit you wish to unlock.
2. That unit is now unlocked for all the pupils in the class.

Unlocking units for an individual student

If one of your students is getting through the content much faster than the others. You can unlock units just for that student.

Whilst on the unlock units page:

1. Click on the checkbox for the unit you wish to unlock.
2. Click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the screen.

Tracking class progress

1. Log in at https://test.rodocodo.com/admin
2. Go to the Classes section.
3. Click on the “Progress” button.
4. You can now view the progress of your whole class.

Each slice in the pie chart represents a level in the game. The colours bronze, silver and gold correspond to the 1, 2, or 3 stars your students earn in the game. By seeing how they are doing, you can set them the task of working to improve their mastery, even on levels they have already completed.

Tracking an individual’s progress

If you want to see the progress of an individual student, follow the steps above then click on their name to see a more detailed summary of their progress.

Locating student username and passwords

1. Log in at https://test.rodocodo.com/admin.
2. Go to the Classes page.
3. Click on the “Students” button for your class.
4. You should see the username and password details for all the students in your class.

Note: If the passwords column is blank and you don’t know what it was you can reset the password for all the students in the class in one go, by clicking the “Set passwords” button.

You can also set individual passwords for each student by clicking on the “Edit” button for the student whose password you want to change.

Lesson plans

Although Rodocodo is perfect for independent learning, we do still advise that your lessons follow some sort of structure. To help with this we have provided lesson plans for each unit that contains the following:

• Explanation of the concept
• Learning goals
• Success criteria
• Vocabulary
• Curriculum coverage
• Preparation
• Step-by-step instructions for teaching the concept

Locating the lesson plans

1. Log in at https://test.rodocodo.com/admin.
2. Go to the Classes page.
3. Click on the “Resources” button for your class.
4. Click on the “Lesson Plan” button for the first unit.

You are now ready to start teaching your first lesson, so head on over to https://game.rodocodo.com.

Preparing the CSV file

Your CSV file needs to be in the following format:

username,password,forename,surname,gender,class,group

So for example if you have have two students (Scott Summers and Jean Grey) in your Year 3 class, 3C, and two students (Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff) in your Year 4 class, 4D. The data might look like this:

Note: The students don’t have to be in any particular order.

Exported as a CSV file it would look like this:

Import multiple classes

1. Log in at https://test.rodocodo.com/admin
2. Go to the Classes page.
3. Click on the “Import Classes” button.
4. Click on the button below Upload file and select your CSV file to upload.
5. Click on the “Create student accounts” button. Note: Only click once! It may take a few seconds depending on how much data you are importing.
6. Wait.

If there are errors in the file, the page will display an error message stating which line(s) of the CSV has the problem. Please fix the errors and save your changes then go back to Step 4 to upload your updated file. If there are no errors the system will successfully import your classes.

By default, the system chooses the “Original (KS1/KS2)” course, but you should change this. The changing course guide can be found here.

7. Click on the “Students” button to view the class username and passwords.

Your students can now log in at https://game.rodocodo.com and start using the system.
